Detroit has won four of five followng a 5-3 victory over Los Angeles on Saturday when Dylan Larkin had two goals and Alex Lyon stopped 33 of 36 shots for the Red Wings. James Reimer will be in net for Detroit in this back-to-back game tonight against the Maple Leafs, who have lost two straight, including 5-3 against Colorado last night and blowing a three-goal lead. The Maple Leafs also held a 3-1 lead over the New York Islanders their previous game and lost that one 4-3 in overtime. Ilya Samsonov is likely for this game and he has a 3.94 goals-against average and a .862 save percentage this season. Meanwhile, the Red Wings have an opportunity to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and they are enjoying a resurgence after going through a rough stretch.
