Detroit at St. Louis

The Detroit Redwings are 47-23-3 on the season and, in most years they would be heading the division, but not this year. That record is good enough for just third place in the competitive Central Conference. They will take on the division leader in St. Louis, who has dominated at home at 30-5-4, but were trashed by Columbus here 5-2 in their last game on home ice.  A pair of the five losses that have occurred here were in their last six. The season series between these two teams is tied at two, with each team holding serve at home.  However, the Redwings won by a combined 6-1 count in Detroit, while losing by a single goal in the two at St. Louis. The Blues have had a difficult time bouncing back off a huge home loss of three goals or more, at 1-5 in their last six.
