Detroit at San Jose

San Jose hasn't played since Saturday, but they have not been playing well in losing 8 of 11. San Jose is #16 in goals scored, #22 in goals allowed with a weak penalty killing unit (#20). The possibility of missing the postseason for the first time in more than a decade is hitting home now for them. With three-fourths of the season gone, and 21 games left, the Sharks are on the outside of the playoff picture. It doesn't help to play a talented Detroit squad that is on an 11-6 run and dynamite on defense - #8 in goals allowed, and #7 in penalty killing. They've been great at home and on the road. San Jose is 0-6 at home while the Red Wings are 9-3 against the Western Conference. Detroit takes this one.
