Philadelphia has a new coach, and if history is any indication, the Flyers will give their best effort in tonight's matchup with Detroit. Teams playing their first game with a new coach in the NHL usually come out focused and get the win even though Scott Gordon is officially the interim coach for the rest of the season. The Red Wings have dropped three straight and goalie Jimmy Howard has a 5-4-1 record and 3.59 goals-against average in his career against Philly. Backup Jonathan Bernier isn't much better with a 4.23 GAA and .890 save percentage versus the Flyers, who have won three of the last four meetings. The Wings have allowed 14 goals their last three games, including a 4-3 overtime loss at the Islanders on Saturday. The Flyers are home following a five-game trip and could start heralded rookie Carter Hart in goal.
