Detroit at Nashville

Matt Duchene had three assists in his first game with Nashville and the Predators defeated Minnesota 5-2 on Thursday. Ryan Ellis and Filip Forsberg each added a goal and assist as the Predators rallied with four goals in the third period. This is a good sign for Nashville, which needed help on offense this season. Detroit is playing its first game of the season and has been off for about a week since its last preseason game. The Red Wings are still in a rebuilding phase and have a mix of veterans and younger players, but are not expected to be playoff contenders.
