Detroit at Edmonton

The Edmonton Oilers are off a 4-0 shutout at Colorado, but don't be fooled. The Oilers have had more than their share of problems on the defensive end of the ice. Prior to the shutout they allowed 26 goals in their previous six games at 4.3 per contest. Detroit is not playing well on the defensive end lately, allowing 11 scores in their last three games. Both teams can be had defensively, and I look for both teams to open things up in this one trying to take advantage of some leaky holes of their opponents. Edmonton is 6-2 to the OVER in their last eight, while Detroit is 5-1 to the OVER on the road vs. a team that is below .500 at home. Play the OVER.
