Detroit at Carolina

This is the home opener for Carolina, and first road game for Detroit. The Red Wings are 2-10 following a win, plus 3-11 after allowing two or fewer goals in their previous game. Detroit does not have a full roster with Pavel Datsyuk on the shelf, who has begun the campaign on injured reserve following ankle surgery in June. Carolina opened as a home dog but had a winning record at home last season. Carolina struggled on offense last year but that was because Eric Staal, Jeff Skinner and Elias Lindholm were never healthy. They are still young and have plenty of upside, in addition to being far healthier for this contest. And the overall defense is fine, so jump on the home team and play Carolina.
