Dallas at Philadelphia

Dallas is playing much better defense this season under new coach Ken Hitchcock. The focus on defense means their offense has dipped a bit to #14 in goals scored, #15 on the power play. But they have star power on offense and are playing well, on a 7-4 run, winning four times as a dog. The Stars are off a bad game but 9-4 after scoring two goals or less in their previous game. Streaky Philadelphia has won five in a row, but that followed a 10-game slide. The Flyers have allowed fewer than three goals in each game during their run, including Thursday's 2-1 triumph over Buffalo. Philadelphia is #10 in goals allowed, 12-5-3 UNDER the total when its opponent scores two goals or fewer in their previous game, plus 13-3 UNDER against the Central division. But the Flyers are on a 3-9 run at home, as well as 3-7 playing on one day of rest. Dallas has taken four of the last five meetings and the UNDER is 18-7-1 when they clash, so back the dog in a defensive game. Take Dallas and the UNDER.
