We've been all over Dallas on their way to two straight series wins. But now they are running into the best team in the league. We're jumping off the Stars for this game one in Detroit. In fact, we like Detroit's chances at a blowout win quite a bit. Dallas handled Anaheim easily, thanks to the Ducks' inability to score. San Jose also struggled to find the net, reaching 3 goals just once - in an overtime game. The Sharks managed just 11 total goals in six games! It won't be so easy for Dallas here. The Red Wings averaged 3.3 goals per game on the season here at home and they have averaged 3.8 per game in the playoffs. Over their last five games, Detroit has averaged 4.8 per game while holding their opponents to 1.8 per game. Both of these teams can play defense but the offense is where the separation will occur. Over their last five games, the Stars have managed just 2.4 goals per game. As they progress deeper and get to the league's elite, their lack of offensive firepower will catch up with them. Detroit steps up vs. the best as they are 32-10 at home vs. winning teams the past two years. They are 28-8 over that span at home vs. teams averaging over 2.8 goals per game. The Wings are also 31-9 this season off a win by 2+ goals including 19-5 if the win came by 3+ goals. The Stars have played very well but they are running into a buzzsaw called the Red Wings now. We like Detroit to win this one easily.
