Tampa Bay is home from a brutal stretch, playing the last four games on the road as well as seven of the last nine away. They have looked out of gas, losing 1-0 and 2-0 the last two games. Coach Jon Cooper switched up the lines in the third period of a 2-0 loss at St. Louis on Tuesday, moving captain Steven Stamkos between Johnson’s normal linemates Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov. Tampa Bay is on a 2-5 run, including 1-7 against the Western Conference. Defenseman Victor Hedman leads the team with nine points -- all assists -- while Tampa Bay's power play has sputtered over the last seven games (2-for-18). Tampa Bay is hurting, too, with Brian Boyle missing the last three games with an undisclosed injury while fellow center Cedric Paquette (foot) was held out Tuesday. Colorado is 5-1 playing on one day of rest, as well as 6-1 following a loss of three or more goals. Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov is 7-2-2 with a .923 career save percentage against the Lightning. The Avalanche have earned points in three straight games against the Lightning, going 2-0-1 while scoring a total of 13 goals, plus Colorado is 9-3 against Tampa Bay over the last 12 contests, so grab the dog and play Colorado.
