Colorado at New York

Colorado has plenty of offensive punch, sixth in the NHL in goals scored, and 3-2 the last five games. They come off a 2-1 win at New Jersey last night as a +130 dog. It's their third straight road game so look for Colorado to slow down the pace, as the UNDER is 3-1-1 in the third game of a three-in-four days situation. The Avalanche are 5-1 when their opponent allows two goals or fewer in their previous game.  They face a struggling New York Rangers team that has lost four of five games. Its only victory during the slump was a 4-3 home win over Carolina on Monday, then they turned around and fell 2-1 last night in a shootout against the Islanders. Defense has been a problem, allowing 17 goals the last five contests. New York won't mind playing a defensive pace after playing last night, ranked #1 in the NHL in goals allowed, on a 15-7-2 run UNDER the total at home. New York is also 21-8-4 UNDER the total following OT on the previous night. Colorado is 15-6 against the Rangers, including 9-3 at New York, so grab the dog in a defensive battle.
