Colorado at Minnesota

The Colorado Avalanche have opened at 6-1-1, including 4-1-1 on the road and this will be their seventh straight on the road in an elongated trip that finally comes to an end tonight. This might not be an easy stop as the Avalanche are 7-20 vs a team with a losing record in their last 27 and Minnesota is returning home after a brutal road trip where they did not put any in the win column. The better news is they are 1-0 at home, which ran their home favorite streak to six straight. The Wild will also be glad to be home as they have now gone 7-2 after a road trip of seven days or more. Avalanche have not gotten prosperous playing in Minnesota where they have been just 3-8 in their last 11 played here. Long road trip finally takes its toll vs a team that has proven to respond taking home ice after a long trip. Minnesota gets the call in this one.
