Colorado is wrapping up its trip to Southern California, a two-game road trip after opening the season with three straight home contests. Colorado will be without Tyson Barrie as the defenseman was suspended three games by the NHL on Saturday for his hit on Anaheim's Simon Despres. Colorado is 29th in the NHL in goals allowed and 17th in penalty killing. That poor defense will be a welcome sight for the Los Angeles Kings, who can play great defense and have an ace in net, but they've been struggling on offense. The Kings are 20-7 at home against a team with a road winning percentage of greater than .600. Los Angeles spent its practice time focusing on passing and discipline, and it paid off with Friday's 2-1 overtime victory over Minnesota. Tyler Toffoli had a power-play goal and Anze Kopitar scored 2:19 into overtime. Jonathan Quick has allowed just three goals on 51 shots in the last two games, and they wrap up a nice five-game homestand tonight. Los Angeles swept the three-game season series in 2014-15, outscoring Colorado 12-4 in the process, part of a 5-0 run against the Avalanche. Play the Los Angeles Kings.
