The Colorado Avalanche take to the road, heading to Edmonton. They bring with them momentum from a thrilling 4-3 shootout win on the road trip opener at Minnesota. The good sign is a splintering offense has appeared to get on track. Edmonton was a step ahead early in the strike shortened season but the rest of the league has caught up and passed them as they have fallen prey to six of their last seven opponents. The attack has been silenced, producing just 12 goals in the seven games. The Avalanche has sniffed out road wins vs. poor home teams those below .400 at home and are 7-2 in their last nine against them. The Oilers continue a pathetic longterm problem as they have dropped to 43-92 in their last 135 games after scoring 2 or less in their previous game. Go with Colorado in this one.
