Colorado at Carolina

It's been hard for most looking at this Carolina team after they went 14 straight without posting a win. What has been overlooked is they are 6-6 at home since then, and 5-2 if posted as a dog or skinny favorite of -107 or less. It has been the Avalanche that started so strong on the road that have cashed just seven of their last 16 on the highway. This game marks the largest moneyline role for them of the season as a road chalk, and their 4-12 mark in their last 16 as a favorite of -110 to -150 doesn't bode well here. Nor does their 3-10 mark vs. teams with a .400 or less winning percentage at home. The Hurricanes are a live home dog here with valued credentials, so I'll play them here. I also like the UNDER in this game. Colorado has gone 15-10 UNDER on the road this season and Columbus has improved their defense quite a bit of late. Against teams that allow 30+ shots per goal per game, the Avs are 10-3 UNDER on the road this season. The past two seasons they are 32-18 UNDER on the road to a total set at 5.5. Take the Hurricanes and the UNDER here.
