The Islanders opened at home by allowing just 18 goals in their first eight games. After that they made a turn for the worse as they allowed 17 in their next four at home, almost equaling that mark in just half of the games. Those four appear to be not the norm as they have found themselves one again allowing a total of 2 goals in their last two on home ice, so the body of work has been defensively competent for 12 of the 16 here. The Blackhawks have been at their sharpest on the defensive end and between the pipes when they have had two days rest, posting a 17-7 mark to the UNDER in their last 24 tilts. The Islanders are at their best when defending at home while Chicago is equal to the task on a pair of days rest. That calls for this one to stay UNDER the total.
