I'm not sold on this New Jersey hot streak, a team that has missed the playoffs the last three years and doesn't look much improved. They still have a losing home record and for the season are giving up more goals than they have scored. The Devils rank #24 in goals scored, #26 in killing penalties, and are in the middle of the pack in goals allowed. New Jersey got back to its losing ways the last game, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Islanders and the Devils are 17-41 against a team with a winning record, 18-43 against the West and on a 3-8 run at home. Goalie Corey Schneider is just 2-3-1 with a 3.22 goals-against average versus Chicago. The defending champs have won five of eight and are 8-3 against the Eastern Conference, as well as 21-5 after allowing five goals or more in their previous game. Brent Seabrook has been picking up the pace offensively in the wake of fellow defenseman Duncan Keith's knee injury, recording three goals and seven assists during his career high-tying seven-game point streak. Chicago is 4-0 the last five meetings and makes it 5-0 tonight. Take Chicago.
