Carolina at Washington

Carolina has won seven of the past nine meetings, including 4-2 on Nov. 3, and the Hurricanes go for their third straight win after defeating the New York Islanders 4-0 on Tuesday. Pyotr Kochetkov made 32 saves for his first shutout of the season, and he is the expected starter tonight. Kochetkov is 13-5-0 with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. He has allowed only four goals on 76 shots in his past three games. Washington has played better on the road than at home recently, as the Capitals have lost five of seven home contests. The Caps are a tired team after playing five of six on the road, and they come off a 3-2 loss to lowly Chicago on Tuesday. Take the Hurricanes.
