Both Carolina and Toronto have gotten out of the gate above the .500 mark in early NHL action. Carolina has been in either a tight game, or losing big as their three non-OT losses have all been by two goals or more. After opening with a win Toronto went five straight without one as they ended up on the short end of three shootouts. They have since turned things around nicely winning three and getting another in a shootout. They went from 11 goals scored in their first six games to 24 in their last six. That certainly provides value when seeking an opportunity to take a team at home on the puckline, as you want a team that is hot offensively and has a good chance to score big. That is exactly where the Mapleleafs are right now, so I'll back them here on the puckline.
