Petr Mrazek had 35 saves and Jordan Staal scored on a power play at 5:57 of the extra period. Mrazek now is 7-2-3 with a 2.04 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in limited action this season. Tampa Bay has scored only six goals in the first three games and the Hurricanes are 23-8 their past 31 games after allowing two or fewer goals their previous game and they are 19-9 following a win. The road team has won the last four meetings, including the first three of this series. The OVER is 6-2-1 in Carolina's past nine road games and 4-1 OVER in the Lightning's last five home games.
