Carolina at San Jose

Carolina won its opener 4-1 over Columbus as Martin Necas had a goal and two assists and Frederik Andersen had 31 saves for the Hurricanes, who are 56-22 thier past 78 games against Western Conference teams. San Jose lost its fifth in a row dating to last season and the Sharks already are 0-2 this year after losing both games played in Prague against Nashville last weekend. Defenseman Brent Burns will face his former teammates after spending 11 years with the Sharks.
