Carolina at New York

The New York Islanders have skated well on the road, but have been perplexingly awful at home. Those are things that over a longer period tend to balance each other out, so I expect a strong effort on home ice in this one. Carolina has a winning 5-4-1 record through ten games as their revamped, and fortified offense, is paying dividends. The problem is that the defense is not and through ten games, despite the winning record, they have been outscored by their opponents. The Hurricane has not been a potent road team at just 14-29 in their last 43. The islanders are acquitting themselves well vs. the Southeast at 12-5 in their last 17, including four straight vs. Carolina. Play on New York.
