The Devils have had a peculiar start to their season as they are a perfect 3-0 on the road and a rather imperfect 0-3 at home. They are catching the Hurricanes at the right time as they have dropped two straight. Most recently, in a game they were sky high for they fell short in a shootout vs. the Stanley Cup Champion Penguins. It was a deflating loss and they are likely to be uninspired tonight and come out a bit flat, while the Devils, hungry for their first home win, will have a much greater sense of purpose here. The Hurricanes sport an anemic 6-21 mark in their last 21 as a dog of +110 to +150, and the home team has claimed victory in 10 of the last 14 meetings in this series. New Jersey gets the call.
