Carolina at Detroit

Detroit was the worst team in the league last year and probably will be again this season, although the Red Wings have stockpiled draft picks and better things are ahead. Just not this year. Journeyman Jonathan Bernier is expected to be in net for Detroit and he has a career 2.75 goals-against average and 2.95 in 2019-20. Carolina has won the last three meetings and the Hurricanes feature Sebastian Aho (38 goals, 28 assists ) and Andrei Svechnikov (24 goals, 37 assists). Goaltending will be the question mark for the Hurricanes with Petr Mrazek and James Reimer alternating in goal. Mrazek will probably go tonight after finishing with a 2.69 GAA last season. The Red Wings have lost 41 of their last 51 games and 10 of their last 14 home games. Take the Hurricanes.
