Both the Minnesota Wild and the Calgary Flames have been playing break-even hockey. This has occurred all the way back to mid-March of last season for the Wild, as they have won back-to-back games just once in their last 24 contests. The Flames’ defensive lapses saw them go through a three game stretch allowing 17 goals, but allowed two in their last outing and seem ready to snap out. To put it in perspective, the 17 goals allowed in three consecutive games leaves them allowing just 19 in their other nine games, so I like what I see here. The Wild's lengthy inconsistency has left them at 1-8 in their last nine after a win. Calgary wins this one.
