Calgary at Edmonton

The Edmonton Oilers broke a three-game losing streak in their last game against the Blue Jackets, so in no way is that indicative of curing their sloppy play that has left them with an overall record of just 3-8 in their last 11 games. They have really been loose behind the net as the Oilers have allowed 43 goals over the 11 game slide, or almost 4 per contest. It is certainly tough playing as a favorite with those kinds of numbers. Calgary has been playing better, winning two of their last three games and only losing in a shootout, and their offense has sprung to life with nine tallies in the three games. The Flames are living large vs. the Northwest at 9-3 over their last 12, while Edmonton is being subdued as home chalk from -110 to -150 at 0-7 in their last seven. This is a good spot for a live dog on a dormant home team, so Calgary gets the call.
