Colorado tied the series 1-1 when Nathan MacKinnon scored 8:27 into overtime after the Avalanche had tied the game late in the third period. Philipp Grubauer made 35 saves for the Avalanche, which looked like a different team than the one that lost 4-0 in Game 1. Also, Colorado signed its top prospect, defenseman Cale Makar, who won the Hobey Baker Award as the best college hockey player in the country, and it's possible he could play tonight. Either way, it will be another positive mental factor for the Avalanche coming off the big win in Game 2. In addition, Colorado has renewed confidence as it beat Calgary for the first time in five tries. The Flames are 1-5 their last six conference quarterfinal games, and Colorado is 7-1 its last eight games with one day of rest, having also won nine of its last 13 overall. Calgary is a slight favorite. Play the Avalanche on the puckline.
