Calgary at Carolina

The teams have met once this season and Calgary won 3-2 on Dec. 7 and the Flames currently have won six of eight although they do come off a 5-1 loss at Florida on Saturday. Jacob Markstrom had a bad day for the Flames allowing all five goals, but Daniel Vladar is expected to start tonight in this back-to-back spot for Calgary. Vladar is 8-7-2 this season. The Flames have won seven of nine on the road, including at Edmonton and Tampa Bay. Carolina also is playing on consecutive days after defeating New Jersey 4-2 yesterday. Pyotr Kochetkov had 23 saves for the Hurricanes and Frederik Andersen is the likely starter today. Andersen will make his second appearance in four months after missing time with a blood-clotting issue. Calgary is getting good line value in this game and take the Flames.
