Calgary at Buffalo

The Calgary Flames have played well for the bulk of the season and at 17-10-2 through 29 games they look like a bonafide playoff team. The Flames have been a model of consistency. While they have dropped two straight games, you have to go all the way back to January 18th of last season to find the last time they dropped three straight, so expect a strong effort tonight in Buffalo. The Sabres have won six of their last nine, but this is a horrific offensive team that is back to finding trouble putting the puck in the net. The Sabres have scored 1 goal or less in 14 games on the season, and have now dropped two of three, scoring just 5 goals in their last four games. Telltale for the Sabres is their 11-42 mark in their last 53 games after scoring 2 or fewer in their previous contest. Take Calgary as my NHL Game of the Month.
