Buffalo at New York

The young Buffalo Sabres love to attack on offense under coach Don Granato. That comes at a defensive cost, however, as last season Buffalo was 25th in goals allowed (3.62 per game) and 22nd in save percentage while allowing the seventh-most shots on goal. They've played one game in the new campaign and got crushed at home by the Rangers, 5-1. The New York Islanders are rested playing their first game of the new season. They are a terrific defensive team, second in the NHL in save percentage (.921) last year and fifth in goals allowed (2.65 per game). The Islanders ended last season on a 19-9-4 run and were 25-13-3 at home. Take New York.
