New York took game one of the home-and-home series last night. Can they make it two in a row? Maybe, but we like Buffalo to get the split. Rick DiPietro didn't look good last game. He gave up 3 goals in the first period. He settled down after that, but we aren't yet sold he's back to full steam following his offseason hip surgery. Buffalo is 11-3 in their last 14 vs. the Islanders including 5-1 in their last six trips to New York. The last two seasons, Buffalo has won 15 of 19 on the road in early season play. They are also 11-2 over the past three seasons on the road after allowing 5+ goals.
