Buffalo defeated Ottawa 6-4 on Tuesday as Jeff Skinner and Tage Thompson each scored twice and Ukka-Pekka Luukkonen had 34 saves for the Sabres, who bounced back after losing 3-1 to Mintreal the night before. New Jersey has won three of six games and the Devils were huge favorites against Washington on Wednesday and lost 6-4. The Capitals had Hunter Shepard in net making his NHL debut and he stopped 18 of 22 shots to defeat the Devils. Eric Comrie is likely for Buffalo and he is 1-1-0 with a 2.05 goals-against average and .923 save percentage in two starts and New Jersey is expected to go with Vitek Vanecek, who has struggled somewhat with a 2-2-0 mark and 3.10 GAA. Vanecek gave up two goals on 16 shots in relief of Akira Schmid in Wednesday's loss. The Sabres are 5-2 UNDER this season and 9-2 UNDER after scoring at least five goals their previous game dating to last season. The UNDER is 21-8-2 the past 31 meetings at New Jersey.
