NHL Playoffs - First Round Game of the Year: Boston looks to bounce back from a tough loss in Game 1 when Nic Dowd deflected T.J. Oshie's shot and scored the winning goal in overtime for the Capitals. Tuukka Rask had 29 saves for the Bruins and he's likely back in net tonight while Washington's goalie situation is up in the air after Craig Anderson, who turns 40 on Friday, came in to relieve injured Vitek Vanecek and had 21 saves. Ilya Samsonov has been off for two weeks due to COVID protocol and we don't yet know the seriousness of Vanecek's injury. Rask is 15-5-3 with a 2.40 goals-against average and Anderson has made only only four appearances this season. The OVER is 5-2-2 the past nine meetings and the Bruins are 5-2-2 OVER after scoring two or fewer goals their previous game. The Capitals are 17-6-3 OVER playing with one day of rest and 6-2-1 OVER as home underdogs. Take the Bruins on the moneyline as my pick for NHL First Round Game of the Year. As a second play for this contest, take the OVER.
