The reigning Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers lost a few players to free agency, including Brandon Montour, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Vladimir Tarasenko. However, the Panthers return their top eight scorers from last season, including Sam Reinhart, who had 57 goals in the regular season and 10 more in the playoffs. Sergei Bobrovsky is back in net and will start tonight after finishing with a 36-17-4 record and a 2.37 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 2023-24. He'll be backed up by Chris Driedger to begin the season. Boston lost in six games to the Panthers in last year's playoffs and it added some help at center by signing Elias Lindholm and acquiring Nikita Zadorov on the defensive side. Boston goalie Jeremy Swayman finally signed an eight-year contract on Sunday so there is a chance he will start tonight. If not, Joonas Korpisalo will be between the pipes. Swayman was 25-10-8 for the Bruins and Korpisalo finished 21-26-4 for Ottawa in 2023-24. It's Ring Night for the Panthers, but don't expect a letdown against the Bruins, who have been distracted by the goalie situation and who scored a total of just eight goals the last five meetings last season. Take the Panthers.
