It seems like a short while ago that the Coyotes appeared to be a team coming on strong as they were spanking opponents to the tune of a 12-2 run. They outscored them 35-17 allowing just barely over one goal per contest. They have erased most of the benefits of that run having followed that with their current woeful play that has seen them go 5-10 over their last 15 games. The goals allowed have gone from just over 1 to over 3. The Ducks, reliant on defense for most of the season, followed a stretch of 15 games scoring no more than 3 goals in a contest but once, have now scored 3 or more in four of their last seven. With Phoenix playing soft on the back-side of the ice, this is a great opportunity for the dog here. The Ducks have been at their best off a pair of days rest at 5-1 in their last six, while the Coyotes are 0-5 in their last five after a win. Anaheim gets the call.
