New Jersey Devils vs Pittsburgh Penguins

New Jersey won the only meeting this season 5-2 on Nov. 16, but the Devils have had trouble scoring lately and they have lost seven of nine, including their past two games. Fatigue also could be a factor as the Devils just completed a four-game trip in a seven-day period and lost three of them and they have scored more than two goals once in five games. Pittsburgh comes off a 6-3 win over Detroit on Sunday when four different skaters each had a goal and an assist and Alex Nedeljkovic had 25 saves. Tristan Jarry is likely tonight with a 2.79 goals-against average. New Jersey is 1-5 playing with one day of rest and 1-4 against a team that scored at least five goals its previous game. New Jersey has the right opponent to snap a three-game losing streak as it has beaten the Penguins five times in a row while allowing a total of only seven goals. Tristan Jarry is 6-5-0 and is likely for the Penguins, who have won five straight after defeating Columbus 5-3 on Tuesday. Pittsburgh lost to the Islanders 5-4 last night as Casey DeSmith allowed all five goals and he might have to go again tonight as Tristan Jarry's status still is uncertain. New Jersey is 20-6 its past 26 road games and 16-7 overall playing with one day of rest. The Penguins have lost seven consecutive games against the Metropolitan Division and they are 2-9 playing on no rest.
