Edmonton Oilers vs Minnesota Wild

Edmonton is seeking payback for a 5-3 home loss in the first meeting this season on Nov. 21, and following their 2-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday, the Oilers have won six of seven and three in a row. Leon Draisaitl had a goal and an assist to back Stuart Skinner, who stopped 21 of 22 shots for the Oilers. Skinner is 10-7-2 with a 2.81 goals-against average and he has won four of his past five starts while allowing only six goals in that span. Edmonton appears to finally have turned it around for good after getting off to a horrible start and then changing head coaches and the Oilers are on a five-game win streak while allowing a total of only eight goals in that span. The Oilers come off a 6-1 victory over Carolina on Wednesday when Zach Hyman scored three goals and Stuart Skinner had 38 saves. Skinner improved to 9-7-1 with a 3.03 GAA and he is probable for this game. Minnesota had a four-game win streak snapped on Thursday nifght losing 2-0 to Vancouver. It was the Wild's first loss in five games under coach John Hynes and they lost despite a 26-17 shot advantage. Filip Gustavsson took the loss for Minnesota and Marc-Andre Fleury is confirmed for tonight's game. Edmonton has dropped four of five and is without captain Connor McDavid for the next two weeks. The offense is 22nd in goals scored and 24th in shooting percentage, while the defense is 27th in goals surrendered (4.00 per game). The Oilers have yet to score in the third period this season and are 19-22-9 without McDavid in the lineup.
