Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers

Los Angeles soared OVER by 36 points in its thrilling 44-42 win over Buffalo on Sunday for its third OVER in four games. The Rams have gone OVER six of seven as underdogs, and the past four meetings with the 49ers have sailed to the high side. Matthew Stafford threw for 320 yards and two TDs against the Bills, and Puka Nacua caught 12 passes for 162 yards for the Rams, who outgained the Bills 457-445. The defense tired late as the Bills outscored the Rams 21-6 in the fourth quarter and nearly pulled out the victory. Now that defense has to play on short rest and the Niners had their best offensive showing of the season while blowing out Chicago 38-13. San Francisco totaled 325 passing yards from Brock Purdy and 131 on the ground. George Kittle had six receptions for 151 yards. The 49ers have allowed 28.6 points per game their past three. A rivalry game and a difficult situational spot for San Francisco. The 49ers traveled to Minnesota Sunday, losing 23-17 as a favorite. The defense allowed 403 yards (146 rushing). The 49ers will be without two of their top pass-catchers in WR Deebo Samuel and star RB Christian McCaffrey to injuries. The defense has some key injuries, as well. Los Angeles plays its home opener after an embarrassing loss at Arizona. They are a big underdog at home despite having a terrific veteran QB in Matthew Stafford (533 yards, 69.7% completions). San Francisco has one of the most talented defenses in the NFL. They shut down Pittsburgh on the road in the opener, 30-7, giving up 239 total yards, including just 41 yards rushing. The balanced offense chews up yards and the clock with a whopping time of possession edge of 37:23 to 22:37. Last season, the 49ers ranked fourth in time of possession. The Los Angeles defense held Seattle to 13 points and 180 total yards in the opener. The Seahawks had just 12 yards of offensive in the second half. The Rams are 32-17 UNDER the total after playing their last game on the road, as well as 21-10 UNDER off a road victory. The offense has struggled against San Francisco averaging 14.3 points in the last three meetings. And NFL teams like the Rams and 49ers that had a completion percentage of 64% or better in the previous season are 56-23 UNDER the total against divisional opponents. The defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams have played like an average team this season although they did pull out a 24-10 win over Carolina two weeks ago and then had a bye week. The Rams have averaged only 15.8 points their past four games and Matthew Stafford had his best game of the season completing 26 of 33 for 253 yards and a touchdown and interception. San Francisco lost to the Chiefs, but the 49ers will have newly-acquired Christian McCaffrey playing with more knowledge of the offense after he ran for 62 yards on 10 carries in his San Francisco debut. Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 303 yards, but the Niners defense couldn't stop Pat Mahomes, who finished with 423 passing yards. The 49ers have won seven of the past eight meetings (7-1 ATS) and already own a 24-9 victory in the first meeting in 2022. Five of the past six meetings have gone UNDER and the Niners are 12-3 UNDER dating to last season and the Rams have stayed UNDER seven of eight, including their last four games.
