Minnesota suffered its first loss of the season last week, 31-29 to Detroit (a nice winner for us). Here the Vikings look to bounce back against the Rams, who beat the lowly Las Vegas Raiders 20-15 last week while being outgained 317-259. Los Angeles relied on four turnovers by the Raiders to eke out a win, and Matthew Stafford was 14 of 23 for 154 yards with an interception. The Vikings lost when Jake Bates kicked a 44-yard field goal in the final seconds for Detroit, which had a narrow edge in total yards 391-383. Minnesota is 7-1-2 ATS its past 10 road games and it has won nine of 11 October games outright. The Rams have lost five of their past six against NFC teams and defensively they are #26 in the NFL in total yards allowed per game (364.3). Stafford has sorely missed his top two receivers in Puka Nacua, who is on injured reserved and Cooper Kupp, who has been upgraded to probable after being out with an ankle injury. With those two guys at full strength, this offense is a different animal. Minnesota is a small favorite. I'm taking the Vikings on the moneyline.

Los Angeles at Minnesota
This is a very short week for Los Angeles after their last game was moved to Tuesday, a 20-10 win at home over Seattle. Now they head out on the road, and the Rams are 20-53 ATS after allowing 150 or fewer passing yards. Minnesota is well-coached and is still alive for a playoff spot after winning two straight. The offense is eighth in total yards, 10th in passing, and 12th in points behind QB Kirk Cousins (29 TDs, six INTs). The Vikings are 38-20 ATS as a home underdog and are 46-28 ATS against teams that average 260+ passing yards. This is a good matchup for the motivated home dog that has covered six in a row against the Rams. Play Minnesota. And after giving up 36 to Green Bay last month, the Rams have allowed 13.3 points per game over their last three contests with only Arizona eclipsing the 10-point mark. Dating back to last season, Los Angeles has gone 10-1 to the UNDER when facing bad defensive teams like the Vikings (teams giving up 24+ points per game). They are also 38-24 UNDER as a favorite in the Sean McVay era, including 16-6 UNDER the past two seasons. Under Mike Zimmer, the Vikings are 34-21 UNDER as an underdog and 19-9 UNDER following a road win. Back Minnesota and the UNDER.

Los Angeles at Minnesota
The revived offense of the Los Angeles Rams under new coach Sean McVay has overshadowed the great performance by the defense the last five games. The Rams have allowed an average of only 11.4 points in that span, including a 33-7 win over Houston last week in a game that went UNDER by five points. The Rams are #14 in the NFL in yards allowed (322.1 per game) and fourth in points allowed (18.0 per game). Meanwhile, Minnesota also has one of the stronger defenses in the league, ranked fifth in yards allowed (294.6) and tied for fifth in points allowed (18.3). The Rams took advantage of four turnovers by the Texans and they sacked Tom Savage three times. The Vikings have given up more than 17 points just once their last seven games. The Rams are 15-7 UNDER after scoring at least 30 points and 13-6 UNDER when following a win and 13-5 UNDER after an ATS win. Minnesota has stayed UNDER in nine of its last 13 games after a win and the Vikings are 33-16 UNDER after scoring at least 30 points their previous game. In addition, the Vikings are 19-7 UNDER against teams with winning records. Play the UNDER.
