Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs keep marching on. Kansas City repeated as Super Bol Champions last year and is the only team yet to suffer a loss this season at 6-0. Most think of the Chiefs as this offensive machine, but Kansas City has a much stronger defense than they are given credit for. That defense seems to continue to improve, and over their last four games, no opponent has broken the 18-point mark against them, as they are allowing a stingy 14.5ppg. Vegas has one of the worst offenses in the NFL, and trading away their most talented offensive player DeVante Adams, certainly isn't going to help. The Raiders are averaging 17.8ppg, and that may decline going forward. The Raiders are 10-1 SU since the start of 2022 against a team that averages fewer than 18ppg. Make the play on Kansas City.

Las Vegas comes off that impressive 63-21 rout of the Chargers. But let's not overreact. After all, in their previous game, the Raiders lost to Minnesota, 3-0. For the season, their quarterbacks have combined for 16 TDs and 18 interceptions. They've turned things over to young QB Aidan O'Connell (8 TDs, 7 picks) on an offense that ranks 29th in total yards and 27th on third down (35.23%). Las Vegas is 10th defensively in points allowed (20 per game) and is 11-2 UNDER the total off a home win. Kansas City's defense has been impressive all season, ranked third in points given up (17.5 per game) and total yards allowed, plus ninth on third down (36.72%). The Chiefs are on a 13-3 run UNDER the total at home, including 12-3 UNDER as a home favorite. Take Las Vegas/Kansas City UNDER the total. 

Kansas City's offense just can't get going scoring 29 total points in the last two games. They come off a Monday Night showdown loss at home to the Eagles, 21-17, dropping to 14th in points scored. The Chiefs are 20-36 ATS on the road after having won five or six of their last seven, and coach Andy Reid is 2-9 ATS away from home as chalk of 7.5 to 14 points. Las Vegas is on a 4-3 SU, 5-2 spread run. They're playing hard for the new coaching staff, losing 20-14 at the Dolphins as a +14 dog. The defense has allowed 12.6 points over the last three contests. The Raiders are 8-1 ATS at home after the first month of the season, while the Chiefs are 7-18 ATS on the road against rush defenses that allow 3.5+ yards rushing per carry. Play Las Vegas. 

Kansas City can clinch the AFC No. 1 seed with a win and a Buffalo loss and the Chiefs have won nine of their past 10 after defeating Denver 27-24. The Broncos came out inspired in interim coach Jerry Rosburg's first game, but Patrick Mahomes passed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and L'Jarius Sneed made a key interception to seal the victory. This week Kansas City's opponent will not be so fired up as the Raiders can't wait to end a very disappointing season especially after coming up just short and losing in overtime to San Francisco. Las Vegas already has benched its starting quarterback, Derek Carr, in favor of Jarrett Stidham, who performed admirably completing 23 of 34 for 365 yards and three TDs with two interceptions. However, it's unknown if he can perform that well two weeks in a row after the Chiefs can review film and he is dealing with a minor elbow injury. Chase Garbers will be the backup QB for the Raiders. Kansas City has gone OVER three of its past four games and the Raiders sailed OVER by 30 points against the 49ers. The past five meetings have gone OVER, including the Chiefs' 30-29 win on Oct. 10. The Raiders are 4-12 ATS their past 16 games after allowing at least 30 points their previous game and they have gone OVER five of six home games and Kansas City is 10-2 OVER its past 12 on the road. Take the Chiefs and the OVER.

Las Vegas finally got its first win of the season defeating Denver 32-23 and it went OVER by 10 points even though the Raiders still were only 2-for-5 in the red zone. Derek Carr went 21-for-34 for 188 yards with no interceptions and Josh Jacobs ran for 144 yards on 28 carries as the Raiders put four good quarters together for the first time. Kansas City soared over by 24.5 points as it beat Tampa Bay 41-31 and the two teams totaled 45 points just in the first half. Patrick Mahomes threw for 249 yards and three TDs with one interception and Travis Kelce caught nine passes for 92 yards and he has been a thorn in the Raiders' side averaging seven catches for 101 yards in eight meetings since 2018. The last four meetings have gone OVER and by an average of 9.4 points, including last year when the Chiefs won both times while totaling 89 points. Kansas City is 9-3 OVER its past 12 games overall and Las Vegas is 8-3 OVER versus AFC West teams. Take the OVER.
