Arizona Cardinals vs New York Jets

New York finally got a well-needed win and covered 21-13 over Houston last Thursday night, but that's no reason to make the Jets favorites on the road against Arizona, which has won and covered three in a row. The Cardinals dominated the Bears 29-9, featuring a 53-yard TD run by Emari Demercado with four seconds to go in the first half, and James Connor ran for 107 yards. Arizona enjoyed a 350-241 edge in total yards, and Kyler Murray didn't have to do much but finished 13 of 20 for 154 yards and no picks. The Cardinals have already come off a 28-27 road win against Miami, and they are 4-2-1 UNDER in their past seven games while allowing only 17.0 points in their past three games. The Jets have been 0-6 ATS in their past six games against teams with winning home records and 0-4 ATS after allowing fewer than 15 points in their previous game. New York hasn't scored more than 24 points this season and has gone UNDER four of five against the NFC West. Take the Cardinals and the UNDER.

This is a tough matchup for both defenses, indoors and facing a lot of wide receiving talent. The Jets can't run the football, but there is talent in the passing game as WR Brandon Marshall has gone over 100 yards in seven of his last 11 games. New York ranks second defensively against the run (68.4 yards per game), but is getting gouged through the air, ranked #31 allowing 303.0 yards passing per game. Jets CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring) has struggled to stay healthy and faces an Arizona offense that is loaded with speed and talent. He's just not the player he used to be, anyway. The New York defense has allowed 27 and 31 points the last two games, and for the season ranks #25 in points allowed. Arizona is 8-3 OVER the total in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record. Arizona gets QB Carson Palmer back after sitting out last week. Palmer has a terrific trio to throw to in WRs Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown, and Michael Floyd. Fitzgerald has 31 catches and is tied for the league lead with five touchdown receptions. They scored 33 points with a backup QB last week, and the OVER is 37-14 after accumulating less than 150 yards passing in their previous game. Play this one OVER the total.

The Jets have been slow to open up the playbook for Brett Favre as he continues to learn the playbook and sets the Jets use. Last week Mangini opened up the Jets offense, though. Favre threw just 48 passes the first two weeks, and he threw 42 last week alone. That does two things. Favre gets hot and delivers TDs, but he also finds a way to send one in the other direction for a pick-6 more frequently than he or the Jets would like. Kurt Warner is healthy, and he is having a year like his Super Bowl year in St. Louis. He has already thrown for 750 yards and six TDs with just one INT. It's no wonder he's playing good as he has two deadly recievers in Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. These two have already caught 33 passes for 540 yards and six TDs between them. If an offensive line can give Warner time, he's as good as anyone. The Jets secondary was picked apart by Phillip Rivers last week, and I expect the same in this one. Both teams should be able to move the ball, and I look for this one to go OVER the total.
