Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles QB Matthew Stafford threw for 317 yards in the opener, an OT loss to Detroit. The offense had 387 yards. The Rams are on a 7-1 spread run against the NFC West. Arizona comes off a 34-28 loss at Buffalo. The offense had just 270 total yards along with a turnover as QB Kyler Murray was sacked four times and the defense let a 17-3 lead slip away. Murray hadn't played in 11 months while rehabbing. The Cardinals are 1-6 ATS as a favorite and the Rams swept the season series last year with ease, 26-9 and 37-14. Play Los Angeles. 

The Arizona Cardinals are 2-9 and heading nowhere, but they have regained the services of QB Kyler Murray. Murray has started two games and the numbers have not been good. Murray has a 77.6 passer rating in the two games and has thrown just one TD and has been picked twice. For his career the Cards are just 12-19 ATS in his 31 home games. The Rams are 4-6 and still have a shot at the playoffs as Minnesota in currently the 7-seed and the Rams are 1.5 games behind. LA mopped up Arizona in their first meeting of the season 26-9. The Rams have owned the Arizona Cardinals as they are 12-2 SU and 12-2 ATS in the last 14 meetings. Make the play on the LA Rams.

Joshua Dobbs had been doing an admirable job as Arizona's starting quarterback until last week when he threw for only 116 yards and two TDs, but also was picked off twice and lost a fumble as the Cardinals lost 34-20 to Cincinnati. Nevertheless, Arizona will be able to hang with the Rams, who are 1-5 ATS their past six games as home favorites and they come off a 23-14 loss to Philadelphia even though Cooper Kupp returned to the lineup and caught eight passes for 118 yards. Los Angeles was outgained 454-249 and Matthew Stafford completed only 21 of 37 for 222 yards. The Rams had only 54 rushing yards and allowed the Eagles 159 on the ground and that will be a problem in this game as the Cardinals rushed for 142 yards against the Bengals and Arizona is #6 in the league in rushing yards per game. The teams split their two meetings last year with the Cardinals winning the rematch 27-17, and Arizona is 19-6-3 ATS as an underdog of 3.5-10.0 points and 19-8-2 ATS as a road dog overall. The Rams are 20-7 UNDER as home favorites and 23-9 UNDER following an ATS loss. Los Angeles is 5-0 UNDER after allowing at least 150 yards rushing its previous game and it has stayed UNDER five of its past seven games overall. Take the Cardinals and the UNDER.

We keep waiting for the Super Bowl champs to turn it around, but the Los Angeles Rams look no better than an average team and even worse on offense. The Rams lost in the final seconds to Tampa Bay last week while totaling only 206 yards of offense. Matthew Stafford was 13 of 27 for 165 yards with the only bright spots being a 69-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp and no interceptions, which are commonplace with Stafford. The Rams are a miserable 2-7-1 ATS their past 10 games and 1-5 ATS at home and 0-4-1 ATS overall their past five November games. Arizona is 10-4 ATS its past 14 road games and comes off two tough losses to Minnesota and Seattle and the Cardinals have played one of the toughest schedules in the league so far this year. Kyler Murray went 25-for-35 for 175 yards with no picks and also ran for 60 yards against the Seahawks and he looks in better form than Stafford. The Rams are 4-9-1 ATS their past 14 games following an ATS loss and they are second-to-last in the NFL in rushing yards per game. Take the Cardinals.

Arizona staged a miraculous comeback to beat Las Vegas in overtime while the Rams nearly blew a 28-3 third quarter lead before defeating Atlanta 31-27 on Sunday. Kyler Murray threw for 277 yards and converted a clutch two-point conversion to send it to OT when Byron Murphy returned a fumble 59 yards for the game-clincher. Los Angeles had an extra three days between games after getting blown out by Buffalo on the opening Thursday of the season and the Rams still suffered a near-collapse in the second half when the Falcons outscored them 24-10. Matthew Stafford finished with 272 yards passing and three TDs, but with two interceptions and the Rams managed to run for only 65 yards on 26 carries. The Rams are 2-8 ATS their past eight games following an ATS loss and they appear to be not close to their Super Bowl-winning form yet and they are 2-6 ATS their last eight games overall dating to last season. This week the Cardinals will be focusing on getting off to a better start than they have the first two games and that spells trouble for Los Angeles and the Rams haven't shown that they can run the ball with any effectiveness.
