Washington is playing better despite few wins. In three of their last four games they've lost by 2, 3 and 2 points. Before that they won on the road by 9 at New Jersey. There is actually quite a bit to be upbeat about for Coach Randy Wittman with the addition of Nene in the frontcourt. "We’re in positions of getting leads of [22], 16, 13, and against good quality opponents, that’s a good thing,” the coach said this week. They had double-digit leads against Indiana, Atlanta and Detroit, and rallied from 25 points down to get within eight against Boston, so they are not giving up. After giving up at least 100 points in 18 of their 20 games before the deadline deal, the Wizards have surrendered triple digits only once and that was when they played their fourth game in five nights in Atlanta, before Nene or Cook had taken their physicals and joined the team. They dominated the Pacers the last time they played for a while, building a 22-point lead before an excruciating second-half collapse, in a game the players will remember. The Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last five when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game and Indiana is just 4-4 SU, 3-5 ATS in their last eight games, coming off a 100-84 loss at New Jersey as a favorite last night, so this is the second of a back-to-back spot. The Pacers are 1-5 ATS in their last six games vs. a team with a losing record and 9-26 ATS in their last 35 games playing on no rest. Play Washington.
