Washington at Cleveland

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Washington Wizards combined for a grand total of 41 wins last season. Both are young and trying to turn the corner. The woes are expected to continue this season as the odds-makers have pegged these two clubs at the bottom of the barrel for expected win totals. Washington's predicted record is 28-54, and Cleveland is expected to go 30-52. Only the Bobcats and Magic are expected to do worse. It may turn out to be a bench game, as John Wall is out for Washington. Kyrie Irving had four wisdom teeth removed and while expected to play, he may not be at full strength. The Wizards have added Omeka Okafor up front, and should get some help with Bradley Beal, their number No. 1 draft pick. The Cavs are just 40-108 since LeBron left town. It’s needless to say that they have had a lot of problems winning, let alone covering a mid-ranged spread as a favorite. The Cavaliers’ starters average less than 24-years-old, so they may take a while to find any sort of team chemistry, and will struggle at times. This one has the look of a game that goes to the wire and either team can win. Small dogs in early season games are a good bet straight-up. Take the Wizards outright here at the attractive odds.
