Sacramento lost its opener at home to Minnesota, 117-115. The problem was defense allowing 47.7% shooting and 40% from long range. For all their offensive prowess, that was the weak spot last season, too, when the Kings ranked 17th in points given up, 21st in shooting allowed, and 29th from long range (38.7% allowed). The Lakers are home for the second straight night after beating Phoenix, 123-116. The defense is fourth in points given up, fifth in shooting allowed, and 12th at defending beyond the arc.
