Portland at San Antonio

It will be playoffs-caliber basketball tonight in San Antonio as the Portland Trailblazers bring their 20-6 record in to face the World Champion Spurs. The key to stopping the Blazers is defense, and San Antonio has served up a lot of that in their past and present, and aren't afraid to man-up in a big game. Portland is 15-2 on the season when they reach the 100-point mark and just 5-4 when they don't. The Spurs are 10-4 on the season when they hold an opponent to fewer than 100 points, and I expect this game to be played with a lot of defensive intensity, which gives the edge to the UNDER. Portland comes in at 5-0 to the UNDER following a game where they topped the 200-point mark, and 7-3 to the UNDER in their last 10 overall. I also think Portland keeps this one close enough to cover this number. The Spurs face inflated lines at home as evidenced by their 4-7 ATS mark in this building. And, over the past three seasons, San Antonio is just 11-23 ATS when facing a team with a .700 mark or better. In the Poppovich era, as good as the Spurs have been, they are just 108-137 ATS vs. these top-level teams. Take the Trailblazers and the UNDER.
