Phoenix just finished up a stand playing 4-of-5 at home - and they are not playing well, losing three in a row while allowing 99, 101 and 110 points. They were favored in two of those games as chalk of 5 and 7 points. Now they head out on the road to play the first place Spurs. The Suns are just 1-3 straight-up on the road, 2-7 ATS in their last nine after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game, and 0-4 ATS in their last four games as a road underdog of +5.0 to +10.5. San Antonio plays its third straight home game, off a 16-point rout of Portland. After the Spurs gave up 51.8 percent shooting in a 106-103 defeat at Milwaukee - a performance so porous they lost despite hitting 60 percent - Gregg Popovich challenged his players to become more defensive minded. In the two games since, wins over Houston and Portland, neither opponent has shot greater than 42.7 percent. The Blazers made just 40.7 percent of their shots Friday and were held to just 36 points in the second half. The Spurs have yet to win on the road, but are 8-0 SU, 5-3 ATS at home. The Spurs rank No. 4 in the league in scoring (100.8 points per game) and will dominate this small and struggling Phoenix squad. Play the Spurs.
