The Philadelphia 76ers have to be smelling blood in the NBA Atlantic. They can sense the potential opening as the Boston Celtics continue to have the look of a team in decline. The Sixers beat them last night at the Garden where they have historically struggled. Philadelphia should be feeling more than confident and feeling good heading to Toronto tonight. The Raptors avoided the NBA Atlantic basement by just one game a year ago, and at 1-4 they certainly don't look like they will be far from it this season, if not in it. Their only claim to victory came against a Minnesota team that was missing their top two players. The Raptors are up and down and that is represented by their 5-14 ATS mark in their last 19 after scoring 100+ in their previous game. The Sixers have been beating the teams they are supposed to, and come into this contest with a rock solid 37-17 ATS mark in their last 54 games vs. a losing squad. The Sixers are hoisting up 22 three-pointers per game, connecting on seven per contest on average. This is not good for the Raptors as they are just 20-57 straight-up over the past three seasons vs. teams that hit 6+ bombs per game. And Doug Collins-coached teams are 31-15 straight-up on the road vs. bad defensive teams (those allowing 100+ per game). Toronto may be able to stay in this one at home, but down the stretch there are more answers coming from the visitor’s side. Play Philadelphia on the moneyline.
