The Nuggets open up the NBA season hosting the Seattle Supersonics. We don't think it is any secret that with Iverson and Anthony this team will put up a lot of shots, and a lot of shots quickly. Defense has never been the calling card for the Nuggets. They will finally have Kenyon Martin back as well after missing virtually the entire year with a knee injury. Seattle loses Ray Allen in a trade with the Celtics, but will feature Kevin Durant in his long-awaited debut. These teams don't make the commitment on the defensive end, as they both yielded 100+ on averagelast year. While Denver was ranked 3rd offensively, Seattle was #12, scoring 99 per game. Durant is expected to play as his ankle has healed enough to be on the court. He led the Sonics with 19 ppg in the pre-season. Coach Karl likes to get his team running even more when he smells a win. The Nuggets under Coach Karl have gone OVER the total 63% of the time under Karl as a home chalk. The Nuggets have gone OVER the total 27 of 40 times under Karl vs. division foes. The Sonics have been a road OVER team for years, as they have an overall 56% OVER percentage the last 10 years. That figure rises to 60% when playing inside the division. Look for this one to be an up-tempo affair, and we will ride the OVER.
