Los Angeles is in dire straits with LeBron James and Lonzo Ball both out with injuries. The Lakers have lost four of their last six games, including a 29-point defeat at the hands of Golden State on Monday when the Warriors shot 50 percent and the Lakers hit only 5-of-20 from three-point range. Minnesota has won two in a row and both were against Phoenix and Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists in Tuesday's win over the Suns. The Timberwolves have won six of the last seven meetings and have covered the last four, including a 108-96 victory on Jan. 6. The Lakers are 7-15-2 ATS their last 24 games against teams with losing records and this season, which opened with such high hopes for the Lakers, is quickly deteriorating. Go with the Timberwolves.
